Do You Ever Have One Of These Days

After months of have fairly calm, even lethargic, kinds of days, suddenly I am in the midst of a day with too many things to be done and what seems like not enough time to do them. It's well past my usual blog writing time, and I am just now grabbing a few minutes to write down some thoughts. It is laundry day for one thing. That is usually pretty simple, but with three added people, who seem to wear an awful lot of clothes, I am doing three loads rather than my usual one. My son volunteered to go to the grocery store. But I had to create a list of items that, hopefully, will take us into the middle of next week at least. He also needed to drive to our nearest Home Depot for some items needed for a couple of repairs that I need done. The nearest Home Depot is 20 miles away. That means that he would be gone at the children's lunch time. So I have had to oversee that. At least that went smoothly without some of the usual arguing and whining. But the kiddos can't easily understand why we can't go to the pool right now. For one thing, the beach towels have just now made it into the washing machine! Every time I look at the clock today hours have literally flown away without my realizing it. And how in the world did we already get to July 3?! Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining. I love having family here, and things have been going well for the most part. It's just that things are "different," if you know what I mean. I know that in a couple of weeks my life will revert to predictable and quiet. So if it is a bit of a whirlwind now, then I am going to embrace it. Let's see. What's next to be done today....?
